September 26, 2023: Entering The Rest Of God

“So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.” (Hebrews 4:9 ESV)

How do we enter the rest of God?

1. Through humility, we enter the rest of God. We must consider His ways higher than our ways. Since he created the Sabbath for man, blessed it, and declared it holy, we must humbly accept it as truth and bow to it. A scriptural principle is that we humble ourselves, and He lifts us up.
2. We enter with faith. All things are possible for those who believe! Faith is key to receiving from God. Where great faith is found, God does great things. We must believe and trust in the work of Christ on Calvary, realizing that He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places.
3. We enter by being intentional. Joshua believed that God was with him to take the promised land, but in obedience, he had to be intentional about taking the first steps. You must be proactive in thinking and acting on Sabbath truth. Start with simple steps, but keep moving into Sabbath rest.
4. We enter by putting aside distractions or those things that trouble the mind. In our day, social media is such a distraction. It draws our attention away from God. We hear more of the world's noise than the voice of God.

Entering the Rest of God is a decision we must make and an action we must take.
