August 1, 2023: Come Sit With Me

"The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne." (Revelation 3:21, ESV)

The word 'conquers' comes from the Greek word NIKE. It means victory, success, and supremacy! It is a military term that describes the army or person who has found success and victory over one's enemies. This tells us that we must actively pursue victory through Jesus Christ. Like Laodicea, we must overcome all lukewarmness.
    
To the one who overcomes, conquers, and finds success, Jesus will grant us the honor of sitting with Him on His throne. We are positioned with Him in heavenly places because of Jesus' victory over all our enemies. His throne speaks of His authority. To the overcomer is offered positional authority with Him. Heaven backs up the overcomer with the authority and power of God!
    
Jesus conquered (NIKE) death, hell, and the grave. He overcame (NIKE) the evil one. He was successful through the cross, was raised from the dead, and sat down with His Father on His throne. The Father gave Him all authority in heaven and on earth as a reward for overcoming.
    
Now Jesus gives to all believers who overcome the reward of that same authority and the honor of sitting with Him on His throne! Purpose to be an overcomer in this life. After all, you are more than conquerors in Him who loved us, Christ Jesus!
