January 4: The One thing God Wants Us To Know

Exodus 33:19 records God’s breathtaking promise to Moses: “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you…” Here, on a lonely mountain, the Lord defines Himself not first by power or justice, but by goodness. Every attribute—holiness, mercy, grace, patience, love, and faithfulness—flows from this core belief: God is good, all the time, in every way. This is the one thing that God wants us to know about Him: HE IS GOOD!

When His glory passed by, Moses saw no harshness, only radiant kindness. That same goodness still pursues us. Think on this: in Christ, the fullness of God’s goodness has passed before us! He has walked among us, died for us, and has risen to secure us forever. The cross is the ultimate demonstration of His goodness: the LORD, abounding in steadfast love.

Today, let the truth settle deep inside you: God is good, all the time, in every way.  Nothing can separate you from His goodness. Not your failures, not your fears, not even your darkest day. May His goodness pass before you again and again, until you know this one thing that He wants you to know: God is good! 

Prayer: “God, by the power of your Spirit, reveal your goodness to me. Amen.”
