What’s Squeezing You?

Introduction:

Two weeks ago I played a prophetic word given to us from Cindy Jacobs.
And the Lord has a word for you (Pastor Tim) right here, the Lord says for you, “I am going to grow my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” The Lord shows me that you have been targeted by those in the occult, and that your church has particularly been targeted. I don’t know anything about your church, but I see some disruptions that have happened, and I see a python just like almost wrapped around the church trying to squeeze it financially and every which way, but I bind and I take authority over that python spirit of divination and I say you will not rule and you will not crush this church. And Lord we pray that you will roar over that church. And the Lord says you are going to expand, enlarge the place of your tent. The Lord said don’t give up on the dreams I gave you because the economy went south. Don’t downsize your dreams, I’m calling you to upsize and not downsize. For you are going to have a move of God of signs and wonders and miracles, I am going to pour out my Glory, and the Lord says particularly on the youth of your church. The Lords says, “I’m going to call them to be treasure hunters, and they’re going to go hunt for souls, and they’re going to do signs and wonders and miracles.” And the Lord says “I am going to move by my Spirit in an astounding way. And there will be a day the church will double and then it will double again--because it’s harvest time says the Lord! Last week I responded to that prophetic word in a message entitled I Hate Snakes. We must learn how to respond to our prophetic words.
- What is a python spirit—from Acts 16:16 Paul casts a spirit of divination/python out of a girl.
- How does it operate-it kills its prey by constricting. Despair, hopelessness, discouragement, and heaviness
- How do we kill it-get the sin out, praise on, confess God’s word.
I want to go deeper today in equipping the church to get free from the spirit of python while at the same time finding great joy in the Father’s love.
Bear hug is a strong hearty embrace by another.

Hugs Make You Feel Good
1. Ie. When Caleb was about three, as soon as the door opened upon my arrival home I would hear the pitty patt of little feet running down the hall to greet me. He was our first Labrador. He would run back and announce to everyone that I was home and come back for hugs. Eventually I would make my way to my easy chair and sit down. Here he would come again, jump up on my lap give me a great big hug and butterfly kisses. Then he said the most profound thing one day and I have never forgot it, “Daddy, hugs make you feel good and kisses make you tickle.”
2. A python spirit seeks to destroy its prey by constricting not crushing. It wraps up its prey so tightly and controls its movements. It then squeezes tighter each time the victim exhales until eventually it suffocates. Last week I mention how that spirit manifests itself through hopelessness, despair, discouragement, heaviness, etc. You carry those things long enough and you will give up. The constricting of those things on a life or on a church creates fear, stress, and anxiety.
3. But hugs make you feel good! Hug-a close embrace, to hold fast, to treat with fondness.
  1. A close embrace-intimacy
  2. To hold fast-security
  3. To treat with fondness-enjoyment/delight.
    1. Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." NKJV
    2. Jesus declares his love and reveals the Fathers heart in Matthew 23:37 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, … How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,…! NKJV
  4. A hug is an expression of love!
    1. When I am loved I feel:
      1. Accepted
      2. Protected
      3. Secure
      4. Pure
      5. Joy
      6. Hope
4. Hugs have a way of unwrapping a serpents grip! In fact it was love that brought about the crushing of the serpents head!
When Poppa Put the Squeeze On
1. He loved so much. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. NKJV
  1. This world was wrapped up in a serpents grip. The spirit of divination was rampant. It had people in darkness. I kept nations in despair. It stole humanity’s hope. It was slowly constricting around all people and slowly taking lives everywhere.
  2. Yet God loved so much that he was willing to give his one and only son that whoever would believe on Him would live!
  3. Everlasting Life=freedom, joy, well being, hope, encouragement, etc. And it is all accessible by believing.
2. He used the greatest love. Greater Love Has No One than this
  1. Jn 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. NKJV
    1. A good father will not hesitate to die for his children.
    2. This is what our God did. God crushed the serpent under the foot of the Son.
  2. Ro. 16:20. And the God of peace will soon crush Satan underneath your feet.”
  3. Ro 5:8 He demonstrated that love to me.
3. That Kind of Love
  1. Lets me know I am important.
    1. I have value!
    2. I have worth!
    3. I am delighted in!
  2. Lets me know all things are possible. When you have a daddy like that all things are possible.
    1. Poster at home. Rusty Kemper, myself, Josh and Caleb. Josh caught a huge bass about as tall as him on dog food. On the picture reads. “A big man is one who makes others feel bigger when they are with him.”
    2. Little kids think their dads can do anything!
    3. Ie. Gourmet meal from left-overs.
    4. Built an army tank out of boxes.
    5. Jumping off the bunk bed into the arms of dad.
You Put the Squeeze On--Love One Another
1. Love like Jesus. John 15:12-13 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. NKJV
  1. This is right before the Greater love has no man than this…
  2. God wants us to lay down our lives for each other.

Love with what you have.
1. 1 Peter 4:8-10 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins." 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. NKJV
  1. fervent love-Gr. Ektenase-intense, earnest. The point in 1 Peter 4:8is that love should not fail in view of the approaching end. This demands purity of will, so that this earnest love must be from the heart (1:22love each other fervently with a pure heart).   2. hospitality-brotherly love. Parable of the good Samaritan. Hospitality is the action that is motivated by unconditional love.
  3. steward grace—God has given each of us a grace we are to administer that grace to others through the gifts/resource that God has given us.
  4. If you were wrapped up and constricted by despair, hopelessness, heaviness etc. Fervent love, hospitality and grace (God’s ability in you) would sure make you feel a whole lot better.
Stir up love and good works. Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. NKJV

Consider one another.
1. Katanomen-consider intently, perceive, observe, understand
2. Heb 10:24-25 Let's see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, THE MESSAGE
3. We are to stir, provoke and incite two things:
  1. Love --motivation
  2. Good works—the action
Do not forsake assembling together. This is more than just coming to church. It means to be connected to one another. 1 Peter 2:5 we are living stones fitted together and connected to the chief corner stone. We are not a pile of rocks we are to connected to each other even as we are connected to Christ.

Be committed to love.
1. Chain yourself to it.
  1. Ephesians 4:3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. NKJV
  2. Colossians 3:14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. NKJV
2. Love covers all sin. Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins. NKJV
3. 1 Chronicles 12:33 of Zebulun there were fifty thousand who went out to battle, expert in war with all weapons of war, stouthearted men who could keep ranks; NKJV to Hebron-place of association
  1. Expert lovers –means you must grow your love and mature in love.
  2. Stouthearted—high EQ. EQ is like IQ. IQ is your intelligence quotient. EQ is your emotional quotient. They were stubborn for victory! Able to “take it” and still stand.
  3. Keep rank- don’t depart from the mission. Love one another. Keep on walking as Jesus walked.
A hug is an expression of love!
1. When I am loved I feel:

Conclusion:

At the end of the age Jesus said the love of many would grow cold. In that kind of atmosphere a python spirit will have a ‘hey day’. I hate snakes. But this I know, “Hugs make you feel good and kisses make you tickle.” The church must never lose that .
Love liberates us from the constrictions of despair, hopelessness, heaviness, and discouragement.
As the Father has loved you, love one another!
