"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." - James 1:27
Our Vision
Committed to be a friend of those who live in nursing homes. We reach out by providing pastoral services, sharing our joy, the goodness of God and his uplifting Word, and singing together the praises of our God. We encourage and lend an ear to the generation that many forget. They are precious to God just as all of us are throughout all our lives.
Our Heart
It is the heart of this ministry to pursue pure and undefiled religion which is to visit the widows. Most of these dear saints have few visitors and truly appreciate our company and encouraging words. They specially delight in sharing their stories and listening to the pure and unadulterated word of the Lord. The actual main event is mostly like a regular service with hymns, preaching/teaching and prayer, all which lasts about one hour.
When We Meet
- Wuesthoff Progressive Care Center (on Spyglass):
- Southland Suites (on Croton)
- Fourth Sunday of each month, at 4:00 p.m.

Leader: Ismael Otero
"One day I got a call from my pastor asking me to back him up on a ministry session to the elderly at a nursing home. I never thought of nursing home ministry or what you would do there, but what do you say to your pastor? “Sure.” Then, before going he called me a second time to ask me to stand in for him because of appointment conflicts. I went and I haven’t looked back, that was 14 years ago. It has been the most rewarding experience to minister to these old saints, hearing their stories and bringing them a fresh word that despite all their experience they are amazed to hear. They are just as hungry for His presence and His Word as a new believer."
