Introduction:
  • Matt 16:17-19 Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." NKJV (the one to whom such power was given could know the depth of the kings trust in him. This was what Jesus was showing his disciples.)
  • Say with me: “Break those chains! Destroy that dungeon! Open the prison doors! Today I am coming out!” “Jesus has the keys and He has come for me!”
    • Why is it that sickness always seems worse at night? Why is it that we become more susceptible to fear at night or in the dark? Why is it that stories of fear seem to always happen at night? Ie. As one boy said, “I am not scared of the dark, only what is in it!”
    • The tormentors always want to keep us isolated, in the dark, and in pain so that they can negotiate what they want from us.
  • Say with me: “Break those chains! Destroy that dungeon! Open the prison doors! Today I am coming out!” “Jesus has the keys and He has come for me!”
  • We wrestle not with flesh and blood but with spiritual rulers in high places…Eph 6:12

ii. He is anointed! Luke 4:18-19 "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." a.       Luke 13:10-13 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. 12 But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman , you are loosed from your infirmity." 13 And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. …Luke 13:15-16 "Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? 16 So ought not this woman , being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound — think of it — for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?" NKJV

C.     Come out of the darkness
i. 1 Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. NKJV
ii. 1 Thess 5:5-7 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness . 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. NKJV
iii. Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness NKJV
D.    “Break those chains! Destroy that dungeon! Open the prison doors! Today I am coming out!” “Jesus has the keys and He has come for me!”

Conclusion:
  • God is going to deliver today. He is going to do the miraculous in your hearts, in your soul and in your bodies.
  • Some of you have been struggling for years with a symptom of a bigger wound, or open door that you may or may not have ever thought of.
    • Lets move by faith this morning and allow the Holy One access to whatever part of our heart he wants.
    • Lets destroy the reservation. Burn the bridge and make it hard to go back to your sin.
  • He who holds the keys has given them to the church.
    • I am a vessel, and there are others who have been entrusted with the keys
    • I am telling you today—Be Free
