    • The Disciples
      • Have no heart at all
    • The Daughter
      • Is in a position where she can do nothing to help herself

1        Battle in the Soul What the devil wants you to think/ Barriers that stand in the way of your answers as you are seeking God. For most the battleground is in the soul.
  1. The soul (mind, will and emotions) is where the enemy attacks us.
  2. The lies he speaks
    1. You are being ignored. Matt 15:22-23 "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed." 23 But He answered her not a word. NKJV
                                                              i.      Jesus did not speak—it seems he ignores her.
ii.      This spirit lies to you and says, “God does not care, God does not love you, See you can never be loved, cared for, healed…
iii.      This spirit seeks to get you to move in the realm of the soul—get angry, get bitter, fall into self-pity.
iv.      A person who is not driven by faith at this point will quit here and take offense.
    1. They just care about themselves. You hear the crowds. The woman goes to Jesus and is ignored. She then goes to the disciples and the disciples said, send her away—they were powerless and too weary to help her.
                                                              i.      Voice of those who are tired and weary. Mk 7:24 says Jesus wanted no one to know where he was or who he was so that they could rest. Matt 15:23 The disciples came and complained, "Now she's bothering us. Would you please take care of her? She's driving us crazy." (THE MESSAGE)
ii.      This spirit seeks to get you to move in the realm of the soul—get angry, get bitter, fall into self-pity.
iii.      The spirit speaks up and says, “These people don’t care about you. All they care about are themselves.
iv.      A person who is not driven by faith at this point will quit here and take offense.

    1. It is not your time. Jesus says, Mark 7:27 "Stand in line and take your turn. The children get fed first. If there's any left over, the dogs get it." (THE MESSAGE)
                                                              i.      Jesus is really saying it is not her time. I am to go first to the children of Israel.
ii.      Have you had people speak that to you? The enemy uses that to discourage you from pressing in to receive from God.
iii.      That spirit then lies to you and says, “See, God does have favorites and you are not one of them.”
iv.      This spirit seeks to get you to move in the realm of the soul—get angry, get bitter, fall into self-pity.
                                                            v.      A person who is not driven by faith at this point will quit here and take offense.
    1. Those are three powerful lies that rob people and keep them from receiving.
    2. You must understand that it is a spirit you are fighting. Infirmity, rejection, self-pity, etc.
2        To the one who overcomes
A      The woman is a gentile and goes boldly to Jesus. She falls humbly at his feet and asks with all her heart. Mark says, she kept asking. She did not quit.
B       When it appeared that Jesus was ignoring her she went to his disciples. She knew her answer was with Him. She also knew the disciple could do something about it too. They got in the flesh and pushed her away. That did not stop her. The voice of the crowd did not stop her.
C       She went right back to Jesus, He tell them and her, I did come for the gentiles I came for the Jews. She worships Him… Matt 15:25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, help me!" NKJV
i          Greek word, proskuneeoo means to give reverence, to adore, to kiss, as a dog would kiss the masters hand.
D      Jesus starts talking ‘bread’ and she starts asking for a crumbs. She starts talking faith!
i          She knows that even a household dog gets the scraps from the table. Ie Even the prodigal knew that his fathers servants were eating better than he was.
ii        Someone in the house is going to feed the dog!
iii      “If that little child gets careless with the bread—the dog is all over it!”
iv      It is an expression of awesome faith. I don’t need the whole loaf just a crumb will do the job.
1        If it is the masters table and the masters children, the master will surely take care of the dog!
2        Such faith!
3        Jesus Gives the Answer and Sends a Message!
A      The woman believes and receives deliverance for her daughter.
i          This mom is believing for her daughter to be healed and she got it!
ii        She humbled herself, did not believe a lie, walked in faith and receive her hearts desire.
B       Great is your Faith! Is Jesus response! Not great is your humility, patience, prayerfulness, etc
i          His ignoring her did not stop her. Faith kept her moving!
ii        The disciples refusing her did not stop her. Faith kept her moving!
iii      Jesus telling her it is not his time to help her did not stop her. Faith kept her moving!
iv      She touched the heart of God with her belief in His character of being loving and good.
C       God is making a point in this passage
i          It does not matter who you are, where you are from, or what you have done—if you have the faith to believe-- the hand of God will be moved for you!
ii        God will not hide his face from those who desire to know him. This woman had desire!
