Ex 24:17-18 The sight of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. 18 So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights. NKJV

· What’s all this fire talk about?
· Jer 5:14 Because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, And this people wood, And it shall devour them. NKJV
1. God is a Consuming Fire
a. Scripture
i. Deut 4:24 For the LORD your God is a consuming fire , a jealous God. NKJV
ii. Deut 9:3 Therefore understand today that the LORD your God is He who goes over before you as a consuming fire. NKJV
iii. Heb 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire. NKJV
b. A man must pass through fire to enter Eden-flaming fire at the gate. Gen. 3:24
c. God makes a covenant with Abraham Gen 15:17, 18
d. The Lord appears to Moses in a flame of fire. Ex 3:2 Moses response was fear and attraction. He was lashed with fear and leashed with attraction.
2. Fire is a symbol of the Lords Presence
a. Again—Ex. 3:2 Burning Bush
b. Pillar of Fire by night Ex 13:21
c. Baptism of Fire Matt 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. NKJV
d. Acts 2:3,4 Tongues of fire over their heads.
3. Fire is associated with worship
a. Fire consumed Solomon’s sacrifice.
i. 2 Chron 7:1-2 When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. 2 And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD's house. NKJV
b. Fire Consumed David’s sacrifice
i. 1 Chron 21:26 And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on the LORD; and He answered him from heaven by fire on the altar of burnt offering. NKJV
c. Fire Consumed Elijah’s sacrifice.
i. 1 Kings 18:38 Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. NKJV
d. We want the fire of God burning on the altars of our hearts.
4. Fire is associated with the Glory.

b. The glory of God is consuming of all things. Sin, sickness, oppression, our flesh.
i. Acts 5:1-6 Annanias and Sapphira
ii. Lev. 10:1 Moses sons die when they offer strange fire.
c. The glory on the church Act 2:43-45 signs, wonders, miracles.
Conclusion:
· We want the fire.
